About Mawarnkarra Health Service (MHS)
Mawarnkarra (MHS) is the largest primary health care provider providing direct services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in the Roebourne area. MHS provides the families of Roebourne with a fully functional and accredited Clinic that treats approximately 3,000 people per year.

The Position
The role of the Finance Officer is to work in collaboration with the Senior Finance Officer and the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer to ensure the ongoing provision of the highest standards of care to clients of the Service through the management of the day-to-day finances and financial obligations of Mawarnkarra.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

- Experience with Xero accounting software.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Excel.
- Experience with payroll, debtor, and creditor processing.
- Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Reconciliation and processing of weekly debit card transactions.
- Management of accounts email ensuring action of all items.
- Knowledge of GST in relation to accounts payable/receivable
- Ability to prioritise workload and demonstrated organisational skills
- Commitment to ongoing participation in education, professional development, evidence-based research and quality assurance.
DUTIES
1. Maintain the highest standards of bookkeeping and finance administration
In collaboration with the Senior Finance:
Aligning creditor expense invoices with purchase orders and ensuring correct authorisation processes have been followed.
Maintenance of creditor and debtor contact details in Xero
Perform accurate data entry, recording all income and expenditure against correct funding programs.
Perform data entry into electronic payroll systems, such as verifying timesheets and hours worked, calculating employee salaries/wages, deductions, and contributions (processing superannuation, salary sacrifice, and various deductions), issuing payslips, and assisting with payroll reconciliations.
Perform petty cash reconciliation.
Assist with reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable systems in order to ensure there is a complete and accurate record of all monies.
Assist in processing staff leave by checking and monitoring accrual balances. Assist with managing and administering travel allowances.
Assist in preparing periodic reports as requested/required.
Assist in the implementation of any financial policies and procedures as required.

Ensure the highest standards of integrity are maintained with respect to finance management and all other matters relating to Mawarnkarra Health Service.
Ensure that all business and financial matters relating to Mawarnkarra Health Service are kept confidential.
Ensure that all financial matters relating to staff are kept confidential. 3. Professional responsibilities:
Work in collaboration with the Senior Finance Officer and Chief Finance Officer on all relevant issues.
Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct.
Participate in and contribute to the fulfillment of operational needs of the organisation as they arise.
Participate in maintaining a safe working environment. Education
Holds a Cert IV in Accounting/Bookkeeping Services or equivalent or be willing to immediately commence a Cert IV in Accounting/Booking Services.
Attend and participate in the professional development program of Mawarnkarra Health Service, as approved.
It is essential you have the following:
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate, (Requirement to be triple vax as per the WA Government mandate for all health care workers)
- Current Drivers Licence;
- Current Working with Children’s Check, Current Police Clearance
Remuneration Benefits include:
- Base Salary $64,994 + Allowances
- Superannuation 10.5%
